Born in the Virgin Islands and raised on St. John, Derek is an IEKHS graduate and attended the University of the Virgin Islands. Derek fell in love with the service industry where he has years of training and work, including front-of-the-house hospitality and back-of-the-house accounting, budgeting, and forecasting through measured data.

He was the very first Tommy Star winner, a highly regarded service industry honor awarded by the U.S. Virgin Islands Hotel and Tourism Association.

Derek joined our team in 2008 as an employee of Parrot Club and quickly became the general manager of one of the most popular spots in all of the US Virgin Islands.

Derek’s hobbies include snorkeling, studying history, and reading tech journals
